Comments: The first named Halima in Islam, Halimah bint Abdullah, was the wet nurse of the prophet Mohammed [SAAW], who nursed him as a baby as his birth mother had died when he was very young. In the Islamic context of the name it means "patience".

In pre-Islamic times, the most renowned Halima was a princess of the 6th century Ghassan Kingdom as the daughter of King al-Harit. After the capture and brutal sacrifice of her brother to the foreign goddess of the Labmidians, in 529 CE Princess Halima personally led battalions of Ghassanids in a campaign against the offending Labmidians.

Above all, the majority of Halimas are beautiful and fit the description of their name perfectly.
