Aleksandra says: I would like to make contact with Pavle - person who made a post, but I have no idea how :(My great grandfather was named Ivan Konopek and maybe he was a brother of Pavle ? In any case, Ivan Konopek came to live in Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina and had one son named Franjo (my grandfather). My grandfather mentioned occasionally that his family moved from Czechoslovakia to Orahovica , town in Croatia. Franjo had 2 sons, one of which moved to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and one that moved to Belgrade. I would like to thank Pavle for his post since it gave me more insight into origin of my maiden surname. For the most part we were told that it was of Czech origin but my research always pointed to Poland as the most probable source. Now I see that it might have originated in Russia. How interesting !
Pavle Konopek says: Nach 30 Jahren Forschung habe ich die Name Konopek in einem ,einigen Maßen korrekter Baumstamm verordnet konnte.Die name ist vor mehrerren Jahrhunderten im Bereich, ca.60Km südlich von Moskau entstanden. Der name hat zunächst ein Kordelflechter als Spitzname "Konopka" die nach einige generationen sich als familien Name befestigt Im laufe der Jahrhunderten ist der Baum sich verbreitet durch die Migration im vielen Länder der Welt. In Jugoslawien ist die Name durch die Migration zweier Bruder Pavle und Ivan Konopek verbreitet.Pavle ist mein Großvater (deda) gewesen der von ustascha getötet worden wahr, und für Onkel meines vaters Ivan habe ich nicht erfahren wie er gestorben ist,aber erfahren das seine nachkommen in gebit Kroatien und Bosnien leben noch,und von Opa Pavle sind fast alle im Belgrad,auch nach der Ustascha Nazi in Kroatien im 1940 bis 1945 ihren Verbrechen begangen haben, geflüchtet und heute im Belgrad geblieben. In Polen leben ,wahrscheinlich am meisten Menschen mit der Name Konopek. In deutschland wo ich lebe mit meine Familie seit 1969 te leben ca. 20 famiien mit Name Konopek. Es ist sehr schwer ein Stambaum von Konopek aufzubauen weil da auch noch die Ursprungsname "Konopka"noch getragen wird.
