Thomas Haselberger says: I live in Germany (Geislingen). My parents told me, that parts of our family went as farmer before the war 1618-1648 from Suebia (Reutlingen) to Bohemia (more detailed Böhmerwald = Šumava), today Czechia. In 1200 they settled as bad knights at a (today destroyed) castle named HASELBURG nearby Reutlingen in South-Germany. This castle should be the origin of our family-name - the guys from HASELBURG, "hasel" means hazelnut-bush and "burg" means castle - very easy. I don´t know, if it´s true, but my father Franz Haselberger is born 1935 near the german-czechia border in a little hamlet named ADLERHÜTTE . So the first part is authentic, and today some people with our name live round the city of Reutlingen, so it could be possible ... but i never tried to verify the exsitence of the castle ... So our ancients founded there in Czechia 1606 a hamlet named HASELBERG and the hill nearby (669m) named also HASELBERG today Liskovec - and a few miles in the south near Nemanice, there exists in further times also a village called HASELBERG with a hill named HASELBERG - so a few of us are from there ;-))
