Meaning of this name is unknown.

Tadeusz Stanislaw Golosinski says: The name has three components: (1) goly (naked), (2) siny (blue, pale) and (3) "ski" denotes a noble's name. Long time ago there was a town-dweller (Bobowa, Malopolskie, Poland) resting on the bank of a river, It happened that close-by a VERY IMPORTANT noble was fording the river in his carriage. Unfortunately the carriage got stuck in the water and the noble began to drown. The townsman quickly undressed, jumped into the river and rescued the noble. Grateful, the noble decided to reward the townsman by ennobling him (no cost involved!). He looked at the guy and saw a naked and blue chap (water was cold) so, being a bit of a joker, he gave him the name Golo-sin(y)-ski. So here we are, is descendants: naked, blue and still poor, but proud!
