This name cannot be introduced by the Normans as stated earlier, since they were invading a primarily Germanic country with many Alberts already.

Also, previously stated meaning was not precise. "Adalbrecht" means literaly Adal, "nobel", and Brecht "shining". Previous entry wrongly included "famous", which would be Ro-, Ra-, or Ruod- as in Rudolf, Roud-Wolf, famous wolf.
