Meaning: Ebiweni is a name common to the Ijaw (Izon), the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria, situated predominantly in the Delta of Southern Nigeria.

The name is made up of two words "Ebi" (Good thing) and "Weni" (sojourn) and roughly translates to "Good journey"; "You walk well" or "you came at a good time".

The name is unisex but seems to be preferred for females. It is popularly reduced to the diminutive "Ebi" which is the most common prefix for Ijaw names.
