Arabic is a member of semitic Language Family( in fact the most important member of this group).Is is considered Central Semitic.The history of arabic is related to religion.One hundred years after the death of Muhammad, the profet chosen by God to spread the Islamic message, arabic became the official language of an empire.Some consider the history of arabic begins in the Tigris-Euphrates basin area, others claim it started somewhere in Eastern Africa.Both of the regions are today linguistically dominated by Semitic languages: arabic and Amharic. Arabic is spoken in 25 counties: Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Algery, Tunisia, Morroco, Kuwait, Syria, Oman, Lybia, Lebanon, Sudan, Qatar, Bahrein, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Djibouti, Mauritania and Yemen.The dialects used in these countries are not mutually intelligible. Most used form of Arabic is modern standard Arabic.It is a modernized version of the literary Arabic.It is used by Arabian media( TV Stations, Newspapers). Colloquial Arabic is the spoken form of Arabic.It is different from one country to another.Most important dialects are: Gulf, Levantine , Egyptian and North African. Arabic is very close related to Hebrew.Arabic has contributed to the Islamic world as Latin has contributed to the European Languages.
